So I have a 1970 subaru 360 micro van... If anyone know what that is its basically the size of a go kart. I am interested in putting a small diesel engine in it maybe from Kohler. Such as this... http://www.kohlerengines.com/onlinecatalog/productDetail.htm?productNumber=KD425-2
Some of you may know this van came from the factory with a 360cc 2cylinder 2stroke. It is extremely difficult to find parts for the factory motor. I would like to be able to drive this van and have some power to spare being able to take the kids around and stuff. I am in the process of restoring it, and I am just trying to figure out what kind of possible differential & Tranny setups I could run in this lil beast to make it be able to run on the freeway at 65-70mph powered by a 19-30 hp diesel motor. I am also open to just dropping a newer motorcycle engine in it. It would be nice to redo the whole rear suspension setup to make this work. I know people have put VW aircooled engines in these things. Anyway, here is my van if anyone has any ideas or suggestions for me that would be great.
And btw my name is Matt and I live in Tacoma, Wa
