Welcome to the asylum. What kind of engine you looking at and how fast you wanting to go? Remember your butt is only 1-3 inches from the ground, so even doing 30 will feel very fast.

Welcome. Many engines will give you good top speed. The real question is, how fast do you want to burn through clutches? A lot of it depends on the gearing and/or torque converter. You can gear high for top speed but then you lose acceleration (and destroy clutches)

If it was twice the displacement or larger, I'd use one. Not for a Kart but something a bit larger.

I know of many pistols that come in semi-auto, but I've never heard of it in an engine.
