Hello guys, new from northern Indiana. Just bought my son and I a winter project. So I purchased a rolling chasis complete with a braking system and steering system for $120. Now we're looking to purchase the rest of the project little by little. I assume we need to choose an engine first so we have been looking at the 420cc predator engine. Any feedback would be appreciated as this is new to both of us, however I am fairly mechanical inclined. Can anyone make out a list for us for everything we will need to purchase? I'm not expecting to build this in a few weeks but would like to know what all I need. Thanks in advance.

The 212 Predator will be plenty of engine for that kart.

It's going to be expensive to get power to the wheels with a 420.

Start a thread in the build section and please fill out your profile.

Thanks, we're trying to build it as cost effective as possible and have been told that we would be disappointed with the power of a 212. We have no experience so we were just going with here say. The 212 is definitely more budget friendly. Will start a build thread and fill out profile. Thanks

420 powerland and 40 series convertor will only cost about 130.00 more than a 212 and a 30 series. More if u use a jackshaft backplate from gopowersports.com also u save the gas from going to hf. I agree a 6.5 isn't bad. I just semi finished a two seat that is pretty impressive with the lifan 196cc 6.5 and a 30 series. Can't wait to see the difference on the next one with the 420cc powerland though.
