Hey all my name is Dan. 27 years old and have a 9 year old daughter. Always contemplated on doing a go kart but I never have done one. I work in a Freightliner shop as a parts guy and have mechanical aptitude. I enjoy cars, trucks, and my toys.
Went to an auction today and found what was left of a 2 seat go kart, ended up buying it! It needs a lot but the main part is there... the frame. I'm super excited to build it up so I stumbled across this forum where I will search around and figure out what I will do. I don't have pictures as it is still in the back of the pickup but I will get some.
Already planning on getting rid of the "one wheel wonder" and putting in a live axle and upgrading the brakes from the rub on the tires to stop type to an actual disc brake. Step one.. sanding down the entire thing..
It pretty much needs everything done to it, even new tires, but I'm happy to have found a frame!
