so i basically have a rolling chasis now, i have a new gx340 337cc honda motor 11hp, i tried a centrifugal clutch (sprocket style) straight from motor to axle, burnt it out within 5 mins from the lack of gear ratio, what kind of clutch should i be looking into , i strictly want torque , would be happy if it went even 15mph as long as it has accelration, me and son go threw trail slow with ruts and mud and small hills, the kart is 6 feet long, any advice would be appreciated, i am making a truck body out of tin once i get this thing moving, thanks

:iagree:

search the forum for "comet 40 series", you can find a lot of information on that particular clutch setup.

$50 is an amazing deal!

ok thanks i will definitly check into the comet series, with that style i would have to put a jackshaft in aswell correct? i need to know what size sprocket for jackshaft and axle sprocket, it currently has 37 tooth, i built the whole chassis from round tube and front and back of 110cc atv

You'll need the CDI box, Ignition coils, Ignition/kill switches, starter button and solenoid plus all related wiring.

When converting a motorcycle engine over to a kart its really best to buy the whole bike so you could re-use portions of the frame for your motor mounts, get the pipes, airbox/filters and maybe even instal the bike brakes on your kart. With an engine like that you'll be needing some serious braking power...

Even If you had to pay a couple hundred more for a complete running bike, you'd probably end up saving money, aggravation and lots time over just buying the engine.
