Did you check the steering on that kart? That's a Yerf Dog and my experience with them is their steering is suspect. I'd hate to see you do all that cool work with that big engine and then not be able to steer straight.

I am putting a spiderbox gx150 setup in it with the rack and pinion. It's gonna be one of those things where I'm gonna have to finish and drive it to find out what sucks on it lol. I also got some nylon bushings for the front hubs to take the play out. Well see how it all works, I kinda just love having a project lol

steering straight isn't the problem, it's going around corners he'll have problems with :roflol:

One word: Ackermann

Gonna be one wild ride. Do yourself a huge favour and go over absolutely bloody everything on that thing and make sure it's up to snuff. Graded hardware and lock nuts everywhere, quality bearings, good welds... That's a heckuva lot of power to drop in a little kart, and Darwin watches builds like this very closely. Don't let him recruit you.

Be sure you've bot nothing less than good quality hydraulic brakes, I would strongly recommend brakes on the frontend, too.

...This certainly explains your "I'm giving away the arse-end of my kart" thread!

I think I may weight the front so that should help with steering and wheelies. I don't really want to put money into this as I have a drift car build going so it's not getting front brakes lol. Right now I have a rear brake off a raptor 350(the axle I'm using). Here's where I got to today.View attachment 29188

Exhaust is half done cause I new a gasket. Motor is fully mounted. Sub frame is complete. I'll update next weekend after I start working on controls and wiring and what not.

Thanks for the advice guys and I hope you enjoy the build.

^^^^^^^^^ this! Plus- you need to get a steering rack from an old vw beetle. They can be had for cheap off Craigslist. Then redo the entire steering and front suspension. Also with that much ***-phalt destroying power you WILL need to beef up that rear swing arm.
why? Cause my yerfdog spider box steering rack seized on me at top gear( they'd only 35mph). And that was some sketchy ish. Get the dub rack. And weld the bejesus outta that rear swing arm, other wide the motor will literally "torque" itself out of the mount and twist your swing arm all kinda up. I swapped a kx250 motor into mine and it bent the pivot leaf off one side. These are very cheap Chinese karts.
