On a tight budget you could try sliding a long piece of pipe over your axle and using its leverage to straighten it out. (I'd try to leave a nut on the end so you dont damage the threads) You could probably use a carpenter's square or something to see when you have it prety close.

If it's the sprocket side, cut it and weld a new one. you'll never get it straight enough and will be eating chains and sprockets for breakfast.

my freinds cart is like that and he bent the axle. I bent it back with a pipe it was easy. and to keep it from bending again i welded a piece of angle iron onto the bottom of it. Since you cant weld you might be able to clamp a pice on with muffler clamps or something

Sometimes thats true, a professional welder would probably heat it up first and that would be better if you have access to a torch set or can afford to pay someone. But if it didnt break the welds when it was damaged, it might not break-em when you try to straighten it back out yourself.

you can heat it up to cherry red and use a pipe like they said and straighten it the best you can and let it air cool. dont pour water on it. thats what makes it brittle. if its off a few millimeters you'd never notice it unless you're doing 40mph or something and on flat road

bending it back would cause stress to the frame, My brother has a one wheel drive i think it's a manco, anyways he snaped his axle off the frame, because he bent the axle before and had someone fix it , he brought it to me in two pcs. asking if i could weld it back on. after looking at the frame i noticed that some of the frame was twisted and had stress cracks, so i replaced that section of the frame with 3/4" sch 40 pipe! and has'nt had a problem since. preheating the axle since it's hardened steel is a must, even after welding/bending stick a torch to it, the longer it takes to cool the better the out come! If it cools off too quick it will cause stress cracks and the steel WILL become brittle, some will heat it cherry red and bump oil on it, another way to harden steel!

maybe if you tried to straighten it cold it would stress the frame, but thats what heating up is for. it makes it easier to fix. if you heat it up to the right temp it will move with ease.

if you could take it to a mechanic shop or a body shop and have them heat it up with torches and straighten it. if they're nice they may only charge you an hour or labor. here thats 40 bucks. couldnt hurt to call around and ask

for around $50 you can buy a small acety torch from home depot or lowes. It gets expensive after a while when the little o2 bottles cost upwards of 10 for just like 2oz of o2.
