I have just started a wooden go kart project (I don't have any welding tools) and I am trying to make it with the least amount of money as posable. Dose any one know were to get a motor for free or under 100euros. I don't want a lawnmower motor because that takes to much work and this is my first time doing it.

Thanks

I curious as to how much work is too much work. I see where you are might be a bit expensive to get parts shipped over there, but in your case lawn mower(industrial motor actually) is about your best bet.

Well if you want something for free or nearly free, you should anticipate doing a lot of work in the future to make it work.

If you don't want to do a lot of work, you will spend lots more money for something that already works.

Sadly, this basic principal is not understood in not just a few kids that want a go kart, but across the majority of individuals in post industrialized nations.

I've been looking around and I'll probably get a lawnmower engin. I origanly thought there was going to be alot of work involved because this is all New to me. But now I know that I just need to fined a way to get the oil in to the motor or get a belt system.

Don't get me wrong I love working for free. I'm a leader in a woodwork camp which is voluntary. I also help out at loads of camps during summer.

I'm a big believer that if I give freely than I'll be given freely. Sorry if I came across lazy. I should have explained myself better.

By any chances could I use a mopet motor or will that not be strong enough?

Thanks.

That depends on the size/weight of the kart (compared to that of the moped); if it's light enough, it should work fine...

Just to reiterate what has already been said, I wouldn't use wood either; by the time you find wood that's strong enough, it will end up being too heavy...
