So I stuffed in a 13ho clone into my Manco. I removed the governor assembly and now I need some assistance with the throttle set up. I have attached a picture of the assemble. What is the best way to set up the throttle cable and where to attach a return spring?

You see the big arm that you can manually press throttle? Right next to that is the clamp to attach the cable. The actual cable goes through the upright bolt head looking thing with a screw on top. Its on the throttle plate, the part that moves when you give it gas... You need to loosen the screw that hold the throttle plate as from the factory it is set so it will stay at whatever position you put it at. I put a big return spring from the cable nut to back of motor, going around the exhaust. Where ever you put it, you want to make sure the throttle shuts down completely back to idle when foot pedal is released....

No, that will not work. The OP stated that he removed the governor internals. Without them, that whole mechanism is pretty much useless.

In short, you need to connect your throttle cable directly to the carburetor. Look here, there are a bunch of throttle examples both with and without governors.

Below is a picture of one of mine.

Yeah, that arm is useless... I should prob just go ahead and remove it also.

I could hook it up like that, but then I would only have about an inch of pedal movement from idle to WOT. What I would like to do is have a full pedal so there has to be a reduction in movement somewhere...

Sorry Chris but, it does work, with the right linkage, my setup is proof.

Honestly, I thought I'd posted this already but I can't find it so, I'll post in my build thread...

link me to it please

The throttle arm is not connected to anything at the moment...the only way to control the throttle is my manipulating the linkage directly to the carb

Keywords: "With the right linkage". However- the post I was referencing did not at all indicate that additional linkages were required, hence my comments, see below (again):

:oops:my bad.... I didn't realize I left out the part about the need for new linkage. The linkage I made is almost EXACTLY like Fabromans....
