What is the top speed once you get up to speed? GPS app on your phone should give you a decent idea. Does it spit and sputter while trying to get to speed or does it sounds fairly healthy?
The speed gets up to around 20 when it finally gets up to speed. It does not sputter and sounds healthy. Just feels like the engine does not get high in terms of rpm’s. Is there any way to share a video on here?

I have owned a couple of 2 seater yerf- dog karts with the Tecumseh engine. Both said 6.5 hp. I think yours might be 5.5 hp. One of mine would get up to almost
30 mph. The other was lucky to hit 25 mph. I put a 196cc clone engine on one and it gets to 35, and pretty quickly. A predator 212 will help a lot. For about $30 more, a predator 224 is even stronger. Same size, same weight, same bolt pattern. If you can afford the little extra, buy the 224. FWIW I gave the original Tecumseh engine to some kids in my neighborhood. Not bad engines, just not very powerful.
Can I use the same comet 30 for the new engine as well?

i think I’ve read these pz style carbs are a “bolt on” upgrade. If not an exact fit, I think enlarging bolt holes might do it. I suggest researching “PZ carb on techcumseh” to see if I remember correctly.

it might be worth $13 to give it a try.

You should be able to swap EVERYTHING related to the clutch and drive system over to either of the predator engines. Verify that the output shaft on your current engine is 3/4". Both of mine were.
