Hello to all. As you can tell, I'm brand new here. Hopefully someone can help me with a few issues I'm having with my current setup.

Streaker Pacesetter Single Seater Short Frame
5" Fronts Rims / 4.10 x 3.50 x 5 tires
6" Rear
Predator 212 - Jetted, Hi Flow Air Filter, Custom Header Pipe
Centrifugal Clutch, 41 chain

First issue I'm having on is the front end is pushing the front tires when I'm driving at slow speed. This is killing my ability to spin donuts and such. No cool. Do the front rims need more camber? Are the spindles worn out?

Second one really isn't an issue but rather a "did I mess this up"? The motor is running fine, starts fine, idles fine, etc. When hooking up the linkage, I used the governor arm as a brace for my throttle return. This means the governor arm is always pulled backwards towards the rear of the cart...always. Is this a safety risk? Could anything go wrong with this?

Last but not least........if I install a GTC TC on this setup, the jackshaft and drive pulley will be behind the sprocket that's on the axle. Essentially, the sprocket is being pulled backwards to make the kart go forward. I'm sure it will work but is there any loss of power?

Thanks in advance........

I can answer some of them questions :p
The GTC TC do drain a small amount of power from the engine, but I think that because it's a CVT its worth the small loss of power through friction on the belts
U will find a good increase in take off and a wee bit higher top speed, SO the gtc IS worth it ( in my eyes )
Is The governer arm Being engaged or disengaged?
If its engaged all the time you will just be limiting the revs ( the whole idea of the governer)
I'm not too sure on the effect If it's disengaged
Cheers

:useless:

I don't understand the first problem, perhaps you can reword it...

Don't rely on the governor as a throttle return, you need a spring in there to bring the throttle plate back to idle...

Thousands of karts are setup the same way without any problems, yours will be fine. It doesn't matter what direction the chain pulls from...

Thanks guys.

Lets try the first one again.....the kart will not turn at slow speeds. The steering works and the tires turn but they simply get pushed and the kart keeps going forward.

Ill work on getting some pics in here.

Maybe you better have a look at this

Just to give you a concise idea, caster is the forward or backward angle of the kingpin as viewed from the side of the wheel (basically, camber on the side). Ackermann is the angle of the inside wheel in relation to the outside wheel during turns...

When the rims are turned fully to the the ackermann is noticeable and the kart turns great. When turned far to the right the rims seem parallel and the cart doesnt handle as well. Now what? The right tie rod will not extend anymore?

We will be able to help you further when you post some pics of the front end of the kart. Turn the wheels first all the way to the right, and take a pic of the front from a birds eye view. Do the same for the left, and also when they are straight.
