Cart weighs about 250 lbs and the engine is a 13hp clone. I am using a comet 40 series and jack shaft set up. The jack shaft sprocket is 12 tooth and the axle is 54. the chain is a 40p and rear tire size is 25". Clutch is working really hard and is sqeeking at times. The belt was adjusted according to size and it flopped around like crazy. I could take it off without even moving the drive or driven clutch forward or back. I re-adjusted it to tighten it up and it appears fine but now the center to center is out of manufactures spec. So, what sprockets would be good for my combination? I can also throw some 22" tires on the rear if that will help. And whats up with my dang clutch?

Wow..Uh yea. Lemme guess your go-kart is slow as hell? Dude 250 lbs? 25" wheels? Omg. Don't blame your clutch. It's you. You have SO MUCH **** weight and such little torque. Thats like having a hamster make enough electricity for a whole city. Not possible. Nice engine though. Make thoughs tires smaller and make the sprocket on the axle have 72 teeth.

Dude! What size is that small sprocket on the end of the jackshaft? If you made that a bit bigger, I'm sure you'd be hauling donkey! After you find out what's wrong with your TC, of course...

Wow nice. Good a nice engine. Nice shocks. Nice jackshaft. Nice Torque converter. How come you have no header or muffler though?

Stock muffler modified on the inside to breathe like a bastid. What size sprocket on the jack shaft? What could be wrong with the tc? It has like 1.5 hrs on it.

Thats a sweet Kart!!! That T.C. should be able to handle a 13 h.p. with not too much difficulty, despite any weight issues. So whats the problem again???? Not enough torque/speed or wrong sprocket size?

Get a bigger driven sprocket and it will fly. like a 60 or maybe a 72. Im running a similar setup with a CAT99 and a 5 horse (same sprockets), but with 21 inch tires.

Where can i find a 60 or 72 tooth sprocket for a 1" live axle? What about jack shaft sprocket? It's 10 teeth. I had to double check.

Currently using a #40 chain. I cant find a 72 tooth #40 anywhere. Should i go to a #35? I can get up to an 84 tooth if i go to that. What are the recommendations on that? Sprocket thickness is my only concern.

Sweet mother of all that is holy! I just ordered 4 sprockets (two jack shaft, one drive and one idler), 10' of chain, 4 master links and 4 half links for $60 shipped.
