Hello, new guy here.
Im looking to turn two older dingo 285s into street karts. I was considering converting my karts into a single wheel drive and loosing the knobby tires for slicks or something comparable. Would turf tires(18X9.5X8 TurfSavers) do well on only concrete or should I try and find something like slicks? I'm a complete newbie to kart modding so suggestions on how to make these karts "road worthy" is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Malaraj

I was under the assumumption that if I cut the axel in half that it would make the kart easier to turn on concrete, right now its pretty difficult to make corners. For my budget, Im not wanting to spend more than $400, however this project is a paycheck to paycheck deal so my budget is flexable. I have acess to a full machine shop and all kinds of welding equipment. I'm learning how to use all of the equipment but I have a machinist teacher so he can fabricate anything I would need. I'm in the US, Dallas, Texas to be exact. This is just an after work project, but after doing some reading and going through these forums, after in done with the dingos, I'm thinking about trying to build a kart of my own.
