Lol my legs......I thought it might have been a rotax earlier, but brushed it off because as far as I know they are pretty rare over here apart from aircraft use.... But Nodroz, I think you might be right

It does look like a two stroke, with the carb & exhaust on opposite sides. Another thing I know about it, it's OLD! lol

Yea, its a piston ported 2 stroke. The flywheel you can see in the pics had another finned piece covering it making it look like a normal flywheel.

If this rings any bells to anyone, the flywheel has a logo on it, It looks like an M with a small S below it, all in a triangle, Could be a S on a W though.

Side of the engine says M-11 and then a 4 digit number. Flywheel also says M-11.

Yeah jman231994 signed up to kartbook.com and well they really weren't to pleased about me restoring it and using it in my back yard. and well none of them really know what it is. I will be changing the motor anyway but the majority seem to think its just a import of some sort of garden machinery. :p

woo thread bump jess haha. I've really been lost as to what the date is hahaha.

Its not a West Bend, from what I could find, all west bends are reed valve engines, this is piston ported. There are a few other things which I can see as different, exhaust position, cowling etc. So yea fastgrass, close but no cigar sadly.

And yea the guys that are on the vintagekart.4t site are on kartbook and sort of disagreed with Jess running it as a fun kart, I promised them that it wont get damaged though so she'd better not make me a liar lol. I can completely see where they are coming from as these karts are rather rare these days, especially in the condition this one is in. Apart from the mods to it of course lol

Also close but no cigar with the guazzoni. Definitely similar again but also many differences which rule it out.

its your kart. what do they want you to do? put it in a museum? have fun with it.

i wouldnt think a garden equipment engine would have a slide carb, but who knows, its old
