I am somewhat desperate and possibly out of time and out of luck, but thought I would try the forums in hopes someone might be able to help.
I live in SE Michigan and looking for someone who might be able to help me modify and repair my off road go kart within the week.
I have what appears to be a home made kart probably 20 years old, bought it used. I rolled it about 4 years ago when I was doing donuts on wet grass and snapped the axel. I haven't done much with it since then except store it under a covered roof due to work keeping me busy. I am leaving for Denver a week after this posting because my business is sponsoring multiple world record attempts and we need several off road chase vehicles. They don't need to be fast, but off road is a must.
I measured multiple times and went back and forth with a company to get a new axel. It appears it doesn't quite fit right. I don't have the tools or the skills to get this working in a week and was hoping someone on here might live close enough I could pay them for their help to get me up and running. I think we might need to do some minor cutting and welding to get the rear axel to fit right. Also need some stand-offs cut and grade 8 bolts for the sprocket. I also need help with wiring the starter back up and making sure the tires stay inflated. The go kart is currently sitting in my trailer and I can come to you if you live anywhere near South East Michigan, North West Ohio, or North East Indiana. The work needs to hold up in the high desert of Colorado off-road conditions without leaving me stranded.
Thanks in advance to anyone who might be able to help me out. If no one can in such a short time period, I'm still interested in finding someone who can eventually fix it.
