I would suggest a 13-18t sprocket on the engine then. And if yoh really wanna get it up there, buy a 40 series tc. You cant buy a 40 series kit but you can buy the driver and the driven gear seperatly, make a jackshaft, and buy the belt and you might reach 45 or so.

with a 12t sprocket, 54t axle sprocket, and 18" tires - he should be pushing 43 mph. if he gets a bigger engine sprocket then he will have NO torque. if he wants to faster then he needs a bigger motor and a Comet 40.

Comet 30 is plenty for his current setup. get it and be done.
