I am very new to the go kart world but I want to build a go kart to run around my neighborhood. Only problem is there is a lot of potholes and dirt roads by me. I dont want to build a track kart than not be able to drive it because of the bumps. I've researched a little bit but cant find any decent plans that have some suspension but isnt too big or complex. Just looking for a good blueprint to go off of. Or would it be possible to just make my own frame and add some mounts for suspension. Kinda lost and confused reading through everything on the internet and just need some help

Lots of buggy style karts ( especially older ones with pull start engines ) were built with suspension at both ends. Finding one even if it needs work will get you going quicker than building from scratch. Maybe cheaper as well. I've found 5 this way. Craigslist, Offer Up, and Face book market place. Either way you go, Welcome to the forum. Lots of good helpful members here and lots of knowledge to be shared.

Thanks. I have a project car im working on right now and just want something fun and quick. A quick little go kart would be good for just running around the streets. Ill look into craigslist but I kind of want the satisfaction of building it myself almost completely custom.

depending on where you live Craigslist might have great stuff or terrible stuff. Look first, you might find what you’re looking for and if you don’t, build it yourself. Just don’t think it’s cheaper to build, metal is expensive! But you have a project car so you probably already know!
