Help needed with electrics

Hi All
What I need is advice on what I need to set up a electrical system from radio receiver to electric drive motors. What I am building is a R/C Robo Bronc, building the structure is no worries just the electrics. What I'll have is 2 electric motors for the drive, using a skid steer set up and 1 motor for the bucking action using 24v or 36v which ever is the best. Can use help me work out what componets I need to achieve this. I got a basic idea what I need but I need you so I can get it right.

What I need first is what parts and what order then I can work out sizes etc as I work out weight etc. Basically what I am building is a skid steer with an extra motor if thats any help. I have it all in my head just can't get it to paper.

I still do not understand your question.

you'd want a three channel remote (well maybe more for 'extra features')
three motor controllers and the motors of course

plug that in, assign the channels and you're done.

But I think you have something 'special' in mind that you didn't talked about yet which makes the "all common r7c parts route" impractical or even impossible *shrugs*

So.. please more details.. :D

Yes I am not good at explaining what i need but I'll have a go. What I want to know is what componets i'll need from the receiver to the motors to make the kart. Is it just the receiver to ESC to motor or is there more in it. I know I have to work out volts amps etc but at the moment I just want to know what parts I need and then I'll start working on sizes etc once I work out weight with your help of course. I see in one thread there on how to calculate certain parts which is very good. But I need to know what parts I need. I was thinking of a 3 channel radio one for each motor, one motor for each side drive and one for the bucking motion. I hope that helps.

depends... ;)

basically it's receiver & batteries -> controller -> motor.. as simple as that.
with two motors you can run each individually with individual controllers,
say left stick for left hand wheels, right for right hand wheels.. push both forward and it runs straight forward, push left forward and it turns right, push left forward, right backward and the vehicles turns clockwise on spot.

the third motor is where it gets fuzzy...
you can either assign it to a button, controlknob or a sideways motion of a controlstick.

OR

if you want one stick to do all the track motion then you'd need the mixer drm linked you to. (or a similar one ;))
then you have the second free to link your third motor to.

But you said kart... and used multiples of 12 for you batteries.. so I guess we're not talking about R/C parts here anymore, is that correct?

You really need to explain more what you're up to,
otherwise we can just make guesses. (and that might turn out bad)

What type of output does the receiver provide? Is it a simple logic high/low or analog 0-5V etc?
typical motor controllers use a pedal/throttle input that feeds 0-5V 9usually a volt divider) which the controller reads in order to know how much power you want going to the motor...

May I say OUCH!

I never thought about such setup.. what you want is full scale beefy madness..

With weights like that you will have to use some golfcart motors or something to get good (jolting) accelleration;
So yeah.. uhm.. no R/C parts it is.

and it being heavy and remote controlled, you want more than just one safety cutoff;
I don't know...
but we have members with more large scale R/C experience around,
so maybe one of them will chime in.
