I bought a Yerf Dog 3203 for $100. It has no engine, clutch, or torque converter.

What is the most economical way to get this kart running.
I have already bought a 6.5 Predator engine from HF.

I'm looking at a "MaxTorque #40 10 Tooth 3/4" Bore Centrifugal Clutch Drum Housing Only Go Kart Mini Bike" for $22.
Will this clutch work?

What size sprocket & chain will I need?

Will I need to buy anything else?

Welcome to the forum

From the description, that "clutch" is only the outer housing which is useless without the business end. You need a complete clutch which will set you back around $35.

Did the kart have an axle sprocket fitted? If so, measure the distance between the teeth & the number of teeth & report back.

Pics would also help...

How tall are your tyres? How heavy are you? We will need some pics for sure. Did your kart have a jackshaft (we will know from pics)?

As far as I know, that Yerf Dog came standard with a comet 30 series, or TAV20. Going to a centrifugal clutch might necessitate a jackshaft to gear down far enough.

You'll need a series 30 3/4" driver clutch. You can find them online between 60-100 dollars fairly easily. If you don't do something silly like drill new holes for that engine you'll be using a Comet 203591 belt or Rotary number 10052.

Well, no, you need to install the engine too :roflol:

But seriously, don't forget the chain... Make sure the teeth on the driven are the same as those on the axle sprocket (which sounds like a #41 pitch)

I ordered belt and driver clutch off ebay.
I'll post update when I get them in.

Nice buy, Drum Brake w/ 19" cable. If Cable is in bad shape good luck with that. Not making them anymore. Had to modify my sons 3205 with hydraulic, and a rotor on the axel. But still all and all Good find.

You'll also want to read up on cleaning / installing / maintaining your CVT, the FAQ / articles forum here has tons of good info. You might also check out my Yerfdog build thread in my sig for a step-by-step Predator-CVT install on my yerf.

Looks like you got a good deal all around, have fun!
