Help me ID my new kart

This number was on the bracket for the brake caliper...#0477.

Nice kart you've got yourself there! What are the engine specifications? In what color are you going to paint it?

I'm not sure about the engine...don't know much about these yet. all i know is it is a flathead. I'm not sure what color i as\m gonna paint it...maybe metallic blue with a yellow body and blue numbers.

its a briggs raptor motor.

that's the problem..there's not really a "local" track..but there are 2 within an hour of me.

What are those tracks called? We might be able to find they're engine/class rules on their websites or searching the net.

Shamrock, and Rt. 35 speedway

The Shamrock track has a website and a forum you could post/ask questions. They dont post their rules or much info about classes, I'd suggest contacting the track owner for info.

I'm pretty sure they have a class for your raptor engine, because heres a youtube video from that track and the engines all appear to be 5hp briggs flatty's like yours:

Their site has tons of good info.
The classes called: "Stock Lite - 325 lbs, Stock Medium - 360 lbs, Stock Heavy - 375 lbs and Stock Super Heavy - 400 lbs" are all for 5hp briggs engines like yours, they just select the class you'd enter by the combined weight of you and your kart.
