Picked this up last week to begin restoring. I'd like to know what make and model it is so I can educate myself on it. Any help is appreciated.

It looks like the kart has been lengthened between the front of the seat and the steering.
Does it look more like that in person.
I was looking at the bend in the front bumper and thinking Rupp

That's the first thing I noticed when I picked it up that it has been lengthened. Thanks for the input. I'm doing some research trying to find a model or year. It looks like most rupps I've seen go up at an angle from the frame to the spindle. This kart just goes straight out from the frame, level with the frame.

Looks like mine, if so it's pretty darn old. Haha.

Haven't found many pictures on a single seat thunder kart to compare. Anybody else with some ideas/comments? The more the better lol.

Got an opportunity to pick up another one of these identical to this except if hasn't been stretched and it has a motor and runs for 120. I'll pick it up Thursday.

Just picked up another. This one is a beauty. And the best part, it was free! Can anyone tell me a make model and year range? Thanks!

Also, these are pretty big back tires. It has a live axle with built in sprocket. Would I be good just running a centrifugal clutch or would I need a TC?

TC.....

EDIT: Give us some more information on tire height, kart and rider weight, and rear sprocket tooth count.....as well as anticipated engine HP.... Looks like it could be a CC candidate....maybe....

Not very familiar with TC. I saw several kits on ebay for about 100 bucks. Could you explain what kind of TC I would need for 420cc?

That description is all over the place; title says

Predator 420CC GO Kart Torque Converter Clutch 1"

Description line #1 says

Complete 3/4" Torque Converter Set

Description line #2 says

1 x 1" Driver Pulley
...

Either way, that's a chinese knock off of an amended 30 series TAV, no reputable manufacturer makes them in this setup; a reputable setup will set you back around $300-$350...

I'm not saying it won't work but, I can't guarantee it will either...
