So guys, I've been hangin around a little while and I've read a lot through your forums, but it takes a while to search for specific things. So right now, I'm having problems with the t/c and I've read on the go kart, and on this site that it should be cleaned after every 5 hours of riding. I think there's a sticky thread here that tells me how, but I do better with pics to help along the way, and there are none that I see on the first page of the thread.
So I'm working on this yerf dog cart, I've got the motor running pretty smoothly since I started working on it, but now I think I might be having problems with my clutch / t/c (whatever you want to call it) See it kept not wanting to go, so I checked the belt, and it was pretty much screwed, so I went to Advance Auto parts and they gave me a belt. The belt itself is the right length, but I'm not sure if it's the right width. It was about the same width as the worn out belt. I put the belt on, and at first it just wanted to eat through the belt, so we took it off rough ground and put it on flat even pavement.
Well... it would go, but it takes a while to get up to speed, but once it's up to speed it runs pretty **** good. After a while it seemed like it wouldn't bog down at all. While I was riding, I ran out of gas, so I put some gas in it, and started it up and went to go... And same problem again. It would move... But not fast at all. The belt looks good, not tore up so I don't think it's the belt. The t/c grabs the belt and starts to get going.... But then it's like it just slips the whole time. So I dunno where to go from here.
I also have no idea what t/c I have, so i brought you guys a pic.
I'm also attaching a pic in this thread of the chain. Two of the pins that hold the links together like to make contact with the driver. Any ideas on that one as well?
Thanks in advance for any help guys. I hope to have all the quirks worked out of this **** dog soon.
Edit: for the record, the asterisks are the other form of dam.
