Help getting info on old Tecumseh

Hi folks.

I have got an old Tecumseh MV100-S two stroke, but there is no info to find on them.
The only thing i know is that it is a 98cc two stroke Tecumseh MV100-S.

Do any body know how many HP and rpms this engine has?

About all I can tell you is that it is 98.49cc's or 6.01cu.in.
HP is around 4 to 4½.
Oil mix is 24:1.

probably depends on what it was originaly fitted to.

For example most walk behind lawnmower engines seem to be governed to around 3000rpm +/- a couple hundred rpm.

No doubt you can get as many revs as you want out of it with a bit of tinkering. To find out how many it is doing at the moment, goto a shop that services small engines, and get them to give you a tachometer reading.
