Was running like a CHAMP then it quit like you killed the switch...
sooooo.. I trouble shot it real quick and.. NO SPARK... so I pulled the covers and flywheel. the key was sheared but was still holding the crank enough to turn over with pull cord..

installed new key... NOTHING
changed points, condensor, and coil.. fired right up then DIED..

NO SPARK
have not torn it back down to see if it sheared another key.. but if it did... will that cause coil, condensor failure.. soi that when you install new key it still wont spark????

HELP GUYS

Sometimes sheared key will produce spark...other times it won't.
Depends on how far out of time it went.
Keys shear for a reason.
Make sure flywheel nut is torqued to factory spec, no more ,no less.

I'd pull it back down and take a closer look at everything. Does your engine have an external coil like my G-400?

Whenever you get ready to reinstall your flywheel, leave the key off, put some valve lapping compound where the flywheel meets the shaft, slide the flywheel on and spin it around in each direction for a while to dress each surface. Then pull the flywheel back off and clean everything off. When you get it right, you'll see this machines each surface to help them grip/lock in together much better. I'd probably try to find the corect sized key but lots of 4-stroke race kart guys dont even run flywheel keys after the valve lapping compound procedure. Have you found the corect torque specs for your flywheel nut?

You are doing something wrong, I guarantee it. Could it be bad kill switch wiring? Did you put a new plug on it? Do you have a service manual for this thing, or are you assuming things?
