Help, don't know what kind of battery to use

amp/hours are a relative efficiency rating. More of an industry standard to rate them that way. You can pull more then the amp/hour rating from a battery, it is just considered out of it's efficiency range, so most likely it will create excess heat and lessen the life of a battery. If your setup will only deliver 1.6 amps, you will end up with a motor that won't even be getting enough juice to spin. But chances are it will pull enough to spin, it just won't spin for long with the smaller batteries and not to it's full potential.

Again 18ah is just a number, I'm sure 3 batteries will power it, I just wouldn't see it having much drive time between charges. In other words that setup wouldn't net you a full 18 holes on the golf course

A 36 volt motor that has 3000rpm with 3 12v 18ah batteries in a series. The gears are 13 teeth on the motor and 35 on the axle. I used the speed calculator and got 33mph. The wheels are 10inches
