Help Cant Identify Engine!!!

Hi Everyone, I am new to the forum and I just got my first go cart 3 days ago. It is old and beat up a bit but I wanted a small project to work on.

Okay, Here is my problem, the motor is not marked so I cannot tell what hp it is or any other info on it. The only thing I have figured out is that it is a briggs and stratton. I think it is a fun power but not sure.

I took some pics for you guys to take a look at and hopefully someone can give me some more info so that I can fix some parts on it.

the main thing I need to know at the moment is how many HP it is and what type of air cleaner it takes.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

its mostlikly a 5hp. because its a powersport

Okay thanks! Do you know what type of air cleaner will fit on it? or any that is meant for a 5hp?

You can go on ebay and buy a manifold and a foam air cleaner for it. You get a little more performance by doing this over the stock air cleaner.

Numbers are stamped into blower housing in 1 of 2 possible places.
Look closely....they are there.
I have never (ever) seen an aluminum B&S without ID.

Thanks Russ but I have had this whole engine apart and I have looked everywhere and very closely and there are no numbers anywhere the only thing that was on it anywhere was on the gas tank and it read 13hh and briggs and stratton, it also had a warning label.

It had a year on the sticker "95-98" not sure if this helps any but I too cant seem to figure out why there is no markings anywhere else. It is very frustrating.

I was looking on ebay and I found an engine that looked very similiar to mine here is the link if you could take a look and give me your thoughts on it, that would be great. Like I said before though, there are no other identifications on my engine.

There will be numbers stamped into the shroud, if it's been painted thickly then you probably wont be able to see them.
