I’m in eastern Tennessee and looking for a good kart. I purchased a 3205 yerf dog with a new predator motor a few months ago, but now my grandson is having trouble with several things. It’s hard to find a decent yerf dog here. Best one I could find is about 2 hours drive from my area.
I recently saw a carbide 150 buggy posted and wanted to ask if these are good quality karts/buggies? I’ve never heard of them. It’s 3 hours away so I would like to know if they are good quality and are parts accessible before I invest my time in driving 3 hours to look at it. Any experience with the carbide 150 is appreciated. Thanks.

If you are not happy with the Godfrey you will be even unhappier with the carbide. Karts need lots and lots of repairs and maintenance. If you are unprepared for this or don’t want to do it may I suggest another activity like bird watching? But if you are prepared for a lot of fun projects the 2 of you can do together and learn together then we can help you. :welcome2:
You came to the right place for honest, helpful and friendly information. We are also kid friendly too and have quite a few on here. We can help your grandson learn to fix his own kart and learn how to properly maintain and ride it! Hope I did not discourage you or run you off.

I have owned 2 Yerf Dogs. Still have one. Own 3 other karts, all different manufacturers. The Yerf Dog is as good as any of them. Go Karts are not a set it and forget it type of toy. They need tinkering with all the time. That is actually part of the fun or interesting part of the hobby. If that seems tiresome and laborious to you, this might not be your cup of tea. Kids, especially boys are usually eager to work on them learning as they go. STAY AWAY from the modern sophisticated ( electric start, reverse gear, head light, fuel injection) style of kart. Nothing but headaches. A Yerf Dog, or similar style kart is a very simple and basic machine. Anybody that tries, can fix just about any part on them. Even a Grandchild.
