Hi Everyone,

I just found this forum the other day and after looking through some stuff decided to register an account.

My name is Shaun, and I just started building an off road go kart. I bought the plans for The Shredder from Ubuildit as a basis/starting point. My goal is to make something my son and I can work on together when he gets older and to have a lot of fun. My wife enjoys dune buggies, quads, and go karts too, so I figure this is a win-win.

I am a teacher and I love working on my car (my baby - 2005 Imola Red BMW E46 M3 6spd), and am crossing my fingers that my son will enjoy motorsports when exposed to them, and want to get into kart racing, so I will have an excuse to get into kart racing also.

I have a ton of questions already about a number of different parts of the kart, but I will wait until I get to that part of the build. I am going to start a build journal on here and document it as it goes along.

Good thing I'm not a grammar/spelling teacher, my head could have exploded!

I am actually a specialist support teacher. I work with children diagnosed with fetal alcohol spectrum, and their teachers and parents and aides.

I just bought some more steel (never enough), but I'll post pics of progress so far.

EDIT: I prolly got that whatyacallit fecal alcohol syndrome deal or whatever. ...Oh wait.....fetal....now I get it. ...no....mama was a good girl.....but I do need someone experienced with fatal alcohol syndrome. ......LOL....
