Hello,

My name is Kyle, and I am trying to build my first kart. I think it would be really fun. Problem is, I have no clue where to start. I have all the tools required, just don't know the parts.

Are there any builds that I can do for under $400? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you, see you around.

Hi, Kyle- and welcome to the forum!

$400 is not unreasonable. If you are resourceful, you can do it for much less. I built my kids kart for just over $200 CDN, and that included a brand new engine and clutch. I would advise you to research your butt off- spend weeks scouring this forum for hints, tips, techniques, ratios angles- everything.

Exercise a lot of patience in your build. Take plenty of time to shop out deals and check out the used market in your area. Keep an eye out for scrap metal and machinery, etc.

Feel free to ask questions and we will answer as best as we can. Cheers!

Thank you! From what I have found out, this engine would work with a kart: http://www.harborfreight.com/engine...as-engine-certified-for-california-68121.html

Am I correct?

Thank you.
