New to go-karts. My son has been asking for one for a couple years now and I decided it was about time. I didn't want to part with $1500 to $1800 for a new one so I build one off an old frame I bought. Worked through all the problems in doing this, no drive wheel, wrong drive wheel sprocket, and figuring out the throttle linkage. It all came together in time for Christmas. However, when my son goes to drive it, it pretty much just spins the back tire in the gravel. The drive system is a 13 tooth centrifugal clutch with a 72 tooth drive sprocket and a new predator 212cc motor. I added some weight to the back and that helped but the wheel still spins a lot. I got on it and can bearly keep the back wheel from spinning. I think I need a jackshaft or torque converter or both, not sure. I don't have a ton of room front to back but due have a bit side to side. Would love some ideas. Thanks a bunch.
