Ah your bike looks great. Can't wait to see it finished. The controller you posted will be good for the motor you have. The voltage of the controller may not be exceeded. The power (800W) just says the small computer inside of it controlls the current and restricts it to a certain level so that the electronics do not start to smoke.

Yeah I know the rear sprocket is quite small, but I didn't want to deal with taking it off since it allows freespin for coasting. Though gear ratio currently is 1:1.

Is that insanely bad? I just figured with a controller and throttle it wouldn't be too problematic having a 1:1 gear ratio, but I do fear it may burn out the motor if I require too much torque to turn the engine.

Hello everyone!

Sorry I havn't been around, but now that i have a little bit of time, and some money again, I am in need of help. The last few things that need to go on the bike are the seat post with a seat, and the controller with throttle.

So I have been looking at sets of controllers with a throttle and I found this guy:

So what I have is a 36V 750W motor, and now I need a controller. What I am curious about this controller is that it seems to work for 750W motored scooters and 1000 W motored scooters. How does it differentiate? Is there an automatic setting? A manual setting?

I want to know if this thing will fry my motor or not.... Any thoughts?

The winding of the motor limits the maximum amount of power that will be used at a given voltage. In other words, the motor will draw what it can and it doesn't matter if the controller can handle more. It just means that the controller won't have to work as hard as it could.
