Hello! Need help with my Yerf Dog 3203

Hey - Bought a used Yerf Dog 3203 with 6hp engine. Not very fast and lacks power for even small hills. Got a great deal on Tecumseh 10HP with electric start (paid only $40) at the plant closing only a few miles from my house. Need some advice on what to do with drive system. Can you use a TAV rated for 8hp, or will the 10hp tear it up? Also need some diagrams on how to wire starter and battery, not sure if I need a solenoid. Great site! solenoid should already be there, nice price. a few guys here are running tav's with i wanna say 15-20hp and no problems(jr dragster tyler) ok wiring battery positive to solenoid post other solenoid post to starter. where the jumper lead goes is dependent upon the solenoid used. if it is a lawnmower type there should be one or two tangs off of the base(plastic). on the ones with two, try each leg. hope it helps.
