And......the ONLY thing different on mine from yours. Look closely, it's possible it once looked like this and was changed....look for holes positioned to hold these headrests and signs there were nuts on at one time.

Even if the headrest is original, it doesn't dismiss it from being a Fox.

I say it's a Red Fox2....

Snap a pic of where the model number should be please. There's a lot of stickers it looks like.

I'll try...I got a lot going on...I just got home at 10:00 pm last night after a 10 day stay in the hospital...but it's going to be the one closest to the outside and just in front of the seat on the driver's side.

No problem, I'm in the same boat a little bit after back surgery #2 in 6 months! Best of luck to you.

What I was hoping to see.

Bear with me...my phone is not loading pics!!!!

Sorry Doug, that is NOT a "RED FOX II" !

it is a "FOX II" (415D-19)

yes, I know it's red.. so technically it's a red "Fox II".. still no "RED FOX II" :(

decal on the red fox.. says "RED FOX" not "FOX"
(afaik that's all the difference there is.. the decals...)

You are partially correct 'sid. It's indeed a Fox 2....(I don't know where I got the idea it was a Red Fox 2?) But you missed the model # by a hair. It's a 415D-09.

Yes Manco part #'s and names are confusing....apparently, both 415Bs and 415Ds both came with either Tecumseh or Robin engines. Maybe that could be the difference between the 415D-09 and the 415D-19?

So what the heck is it guys? I can't find a model number on this thing. It does have the Tecumseh engine. 5hp. Also, where is the best place to look for parts? Thanks.

What parts do you need? Most of the parts it will have will be more or less generic and fleabay could be a good source...

Take a gander for yourself. Compare what it looks like in real life to the exploded parts diagrams. I narrowed down what I thought was a Manco 475 to a 485 all on account of the mounts for a cage over the engine it had at one time. Manco produced way too many variants and subvariants in my opinion. But in the end, they're all pretty much the same.

Look in the 4XXX series obviously:

I need a clutch and chain. Not sure what size or anything since they are missing. Throttle cable too. Um....seat belts! Should I just go rob them out of a car at the junk yard? This kart is for my son, he's a little young this year but he will be big enough for it next year. Need seat belts or momma says no way Jose.

Well Doug was hoping for a RedFoxII decal (indeed a red fox face) instead of the Manco decal you see on other Mancos ;)

That's why he asked :D
could aslo be a rattler II though (415-271)
https://amsportworks.com/pdfs/gokarts-minibikes/model-415/415_operatorsmanual_415271.pdf
or a white fox II (415-491)

it's a 415 of some sort
say a 391 or something (wheels have changed.. sometimes the engine model.. chassis and all other parts are almost always identical except for color and decals of course)

https://amsportworks.com/pdfs/gokarts-minibikes/model-415/415_operatorsmanual_415391415241.pdf

OR if it was red just a FOX II (415D-19)

'sid

See.. it IS confusing.. :lolgoku:

That -19 was taken from the amsportworks alphabetic list, which lists both.. frankly.. I couldn't tell the difference since the 09 and the 19 even share the same manual (all 415D do, they even share the same manual with all the 415Bs)
https://amsportworks.com/pdfs/gokarts-minibikes/model-415/415_operatorsmanual_415b415d.pdf ( - 2002)
or
https://amsportworks.com/pdfs/gokarts-minibikes/model-415/415_operatorsmanual_415b1415d1.pdf (2002 - )

*shrugs*

Ah well... :D

Pay attention. Click on the links 'sid provided. What part of "mine is EXACTLY like yours except for the headrest " did you not understand. ANY other part is a direct fit except for the headrest...(did you need one of those)?

If you had bothered to check the holes per my request....you'd likely find that even if it didn't come with the ones I have....you could use them.

Quit obsessing over an absolutely positive ID which is impossible without YOU providing a part #.... and just do this: call it a Fox2, and use the 415D-09 model # for parts...(they ARE exactly the same!!!!!!)

Click on the manual links 'sid provided and have a look....Jeeze...we don't go through the trouble to provide the information just to have it ignored! !!!

GoPowersports is one of my favorite places for parts...Mention or insert you are a DIY gokarts member and get 10% off.

You can get a 12 tooth #35 clutch from GoPowersports for around $20....Chancer has a source for a $17 one. you can get a #35 chain almost anywhere...including your local Tractor Supply Co. You'll also need a #35 master link.

I found some really cheap seat belts (like $7) on Amazon....just search Gokart seat belt on Amazon.

Throttle cable: GoPowersports, Amazon, or your local bike shop....IDK...think someone said they found one in the bicycle section at Wal-Mart...but I could be wrong.

Throw in a helmet too and some racing gloves--they make youth sizes for both and investing your son with the notion that he has to "suit up" before he goes driving will instill both safety and a small fun/neat-o/gee whiz factor into the whole scheme. Mom will feel even better about it, and isn't it all about pleasing Mom? :p

I just got a decent but nice helmet (full face) on sale which I do intend to use. Will come in handy for the wintertime too. Currently looking at some "armored" racing gloves with a hard polymer knuckle protector...

Haven't seen a pic of your engine...but you probably also need a 5/16 fine thread bolt and washer to hold the clutch on....Home Depot...Ace Hardware or GoPowersports...(while you're ordering anyway) you may need a key if the clutch doesn't come with one...but if it doesn't...it should have instructions with the clutch including key size (which should be easy to find locally and less than $2.

Any other help...just ask.

Oh...and the seatbelts...call GoPowersports or possibly Gokartrus....(someone help me remember another Manco heavy source) to get direct fit replacement seatbelts .

The Amazon ones are generic and pretty lightweight. Obviously, You'll need 3 bolts. and six washers...but that's a no brainer.
