I bought a old Gem car, it like a golfcart, and I making it gas, instead of electric, I trying to find out, if i use a t/c from the engine to the jack shaft on the left side, and on the right side of the jack shaft instead of a chain use another driver t/c and a driving on the axle, would that increase my speed or torque at all

Let's clear up what seems a fairly common misconception first.
A TC doesn't increase your available power or torque either one, it simply makes better use of what the engine has to give over a wider powerband.

A double TC is definitely NOT going to work out well at all... I'm sure mechanically it could be done just for the sake of doing it, but it will only cost you power.

If each TC is identical with an engagement speed lets say 2000 rpm at the crank to keep it simple.

That would mean not only will you need 2000 RPM to engage the driver clutch on the engine, but you would need to spin the jackshaft at 2000 rpm to even engage the second. Being that a TC functions the way it does you would need a lot of speed at the crank to even start rolling.

that make sense to me, my Briggs set for 4k max rpm, don't want to go higher than that, the fly wheel will except 6k but I don't like to push the rpms higher than 4k, thank you for the help, it keeping me on the straight and narrows, I have received the #40 series t/c and #50 chain and sprockets with a 3/4 Inch jack shaft , and live in western Ny near the Erie canal, I have life time use of the canal path with a small motorized vehicle do to my disability, I find people in need of transportation often, due to medical or breakdowns and I wish to continue to help, thanks for your response

You definitely want to be geared with a final drive somewhere above or near 5.6:1 for sure, assuming the average golf cart tire has between 10" and 13" rolling surface diameter tires

Those are heavy karts, may want to gear it even lower depending on the engine you use. Thank you for you’re service and Welcome to the addiction, Aaahh, I mean board!
You thinking more 6.66:1 (9/60)? Oh my bad with the jackshaft it could actually be ramped up quite a bit like 9/20/30/56

the cart is called a G.E.M. it all electric and street legal, I opened the electronic and they we're pack with mud so I rip all the electronic out , it has a aluminum frame and with out the motor and batteries and electronics I guess it weight is about 350lbs, it has a aluminum independent front end and a rolling rear axle, I cut the axle off, and put a 12/1 golf cart axle on it, with a 15 tooth #50 chain sprocket on the axle and a 45 tooth on the jackshaft, I have a series #40 torque converter, and stock street tires, I think there 12 inch rims, I decided to put the Duramax xp18hpe,engine on it, I hope I'm moving it the right direction, and I'm making everything adjustable, if you see a problem let me know, I also have a 9 Inch pulley on the jack shaft foe a alternator 20 amp, this is what I doing cause I cant hand start the engine, I cant walk to far, they cant give me knee replacements' because I still have fragments imbedded in the boned of my hip and legs from Vietnam grenade's but I can get around with this cart and a rollin walker. enough about me, I make joke all the time to make people smile, know matter how bad it makes me look, I have extreme PTSD due to all the things that happen to me, and telling joke relieves the stress around me, I just one of many disable veterans

I'd love to see pics of your cart and as they say, pictures speak a thousand words and showing sometimes saves a lot of unnecessary typing and trying to describe something.
