Hello, I am from Europe ( Netherlands ) but live in central Texas for a couple of years now. Interested in everything with engines. Completely new into Go Karts. Bought a vintage Go Kart on a local car parts swap meet!! Try to find out more about it and that's how I "googled" onto this great site.

My plan is to "restore" the Go Kart partly or completely depending on if it is worth it.

As I said I am new to Go Karts but to me it looks like it might be a Rupp Kart after searching the internet.

So for now I am starting to learn about vintage Go Karts.

Thanks.

...if it's worth it?

I might be wrong, but that very much looks like an old Rupp to me too.
(and with that is amongst the priciest vintage karts you could find)

We might need a few more pics to tell for sure (rear end, side view, some details perhaps)

Nice kart either way.. please do NOT put a four stroke engine anywhere near it...
that'd be blasphemic :D

Thanks for your message. I started with dismantling the kart. So far no issues with the exception of the removal of the aft wheels. Only managed to get the right aft wheel off the axle. The left aft wheel nut won't come loose for now. Don't want to damage the rear axle so I start searching the forum for solutions.

I added some pictures to see if the experts can decide if it is actually a Rupp.

The project has started.

you lucky bastard!!!

Yes that is an A Bone chassis.. a pre 1968 according to the wide steering hoop.
prepped for twin engine mounts..

NICE!!!

Don't ruin that poor thing..
find turbine wheels if you can, motor mounts are still available,
seat pads show up on ebay every now and again too...
And that needs Macs or Westbends (still being made under the USPower brand)

Welcome and nice find  I just drove thru your area (Temple) this past week and made sure to stop at the Buc-ee's, then again I stop at every one I see  Hope you are enjoying Texas. A vintage kart is something I would like to restore one day, but haven't found any locally or at least for a decent price. Good luck!
