Howdy everyone, I've been lurking and learning here for quite awhile and thought it was time to say hi. I'm located in the boondocks in central Utah, lots of dirt and sand to play in. I've been building and modifying all sorts of things for years. I have a couple karts in the yard and a couple more plans floating around in my head. Anyway I'll keep it short and say thanks for all the crazy ideas I've gotten already.

Welcome to the forum! If you get something going, look up our member Kelly Wood- He's in Utah (I suspect not far from you) and dying to find somebody local to race/compare notes with!

Ill have to get pics taken, I'm in a little town called Lynndyl just north of Delta. Hey Kelly ive checked out kartrods, way cool Im a huge fan of use what ya got and make it work. The most recent kart ive done was built for $0.45, i had to buy a bolt to mount the clutch, but it got disassembled after my son punched a hole in my house with it.

I see... Lynndyl huh? Well, that's pretty neat... because... The other guy here "Desertduler" and I are gonna hook up & come down there... to those dry lakebeds down off of the Brush Wellman road by IPP north of Delta

You in? Wanna roll?

Perhaps we should start a thread on it so all are informed?

Are your vehicles operational? I have spare stuff that might work if you need it.

What to you do in Lynndyl? Tell me about those areas around the old tracks. Is it gravel, somewhat smooth? I'm looking for places to run an urban kart race sometime and older places like this just turn me on. :)

Is there even a stop light in town? Any good places to eat? Is the old gas station still kind of there? I'm looking for a nifty place to take some old school photos... and an old gas station would work great.

Sorry, took me a few days to get back to you. As for Lynndyl, no stoplight, couple stops signs. One c-store/gas station on the highway. The old gas station in town is mostly dismantled. The roads by the tracks are pretty rough. Not much of a place close to town here that i think would make a very good track.

On another note, 4 miles away in Leamington there is an old Phillips 66 gas station, long out of business and the people who own it have made some effort to restore it, even adding an antique gas pump, this would probably be close to what your looking for photo wise.

Cool, thanks for the reply.

I'll have to swing down that way & check things out.

But, what I meant by track was a self serving question. My kart rods (urban racers) don't have to have a totally flat place... really any road, abandonded warehouse, whatever will work. It's a different kind of race I like to do. It's dangerous.

We'll be in touch!

Kelly
