Hello, about 10 days ago I purchased a Go Kart for $50. I never had a Go Kart when I was a kid and always wanted one. I have a daughter who is about to turn 9 years old in November, so I thought I could rebuild this Cart for her (and me) birthday. I know nothing about Go Karts, but I have been researching and reading some the threads on this forum and figured I would join to get specific advice and hopefully help others with a Go Kart similar to mine.

A little bit about myself. I'm from south Texas (San Antonio area). I am mechanically inclined and always try to fix something myself rather paying someone else to. I enjoy rebuilding, repairing, or repurposing all kinds of things I come across.

After reading some threads on here I believe I have a Carter Bros Go Kart. I will start a new thread for my rebuild.

Welcome...I was born in San Antonio...in a small manger under a bright star in December.....well almost...no manger...no star...but I was born in December.

I lived on the west side off 410..(mere blocks actually) W. Hermine.

I still miss the place...and I'll bet you a warm flat beer you don't get down to the river near as much as you should!

I've got no room to talk tho...downtown Ft. Worth is Awesome...and I never go!

Actually I do go down to Riverwalk quite often, not to check out the tourist attractions but to check out the tourists themselves ;) . Been to Downtown Fort Worth once, I really liked it, ate a giant beef rib at the stockyards. Been wanting to back since.

Well...I would say look me up and we'll do the town.....but actually, the view is much nicer without bars in the way.

Some of the tourist attractions are pretty cool...(especially a little away towards the outskirts....and just a leeeeetle bit off the beaten path)....but the river taxi at night is cool...and there are a couple of pretty decent Mexican restaurants on the main river.

But...there's always SOMETHING going on down there.

I guess you win...a warm flat Lone Star headed your way.
