Hello everyone My name is John and im new to this hobby. i have always wanted to build a kart and my chance finally came up when i bought a predator 301cc engine from harbor freight tools. i payed $35 for it but have had multiple problems since then, namely where to get a clutch with out emptying the bank.

does anyone know a good place to get a clutch for a 1" diameter shaft?

Whatever way you go, it's gonna cost you; however, there are now cheap Chinese knock-offs of the 40 series torque converter available on ebay for a little over $100... unless you can find a used one somewhere...

A standard centrifugal clutch will cost you around the same...

Welcome to the forum. Like Fabroman says, you are not going to find a clutch for less than $100

i actually managed to find one for 72.99 after quite a bit of searching. thanks for the help guys!

After you burn up a few of those cheap 72 dollar clutches you will wish you had bought this for 76.99 and it preforms so much better than a clutch.

Just the belts wear out and they are 25.00 to replace.
