:welcome2:

You would need to know what the internal gear ratios are to correctly calculate the sprocket sizes but, it shouldn't matter that much; top gear is usually always 1:1 so, if you calculate off that for top speed, you should still have decent acceleration with the lower gears...

WHat size rear wheels are on the kart?

Welcome to the forum Rassie. It is nice to see another South African around. Fabroman has pretty much nailed what we need to know, but post some pictures of the kart and engine as well.

Doing some googling, i found this:

I am pretty sure both the 155z/160's trans ratios work out to this:

First Gear: 3.272 (11/36)

second Gear: 1.937(16/31)

Third Gear: 1.35(20/27)

Fourth Gear: 1.043(23/24)

I can't tell from the pics but, does or can the axle sprocket line up with the engine sprocket?

Being a bike engine, I'm gonna guess the engine sprocket is in the 50s range (most likely 520); for drifting, you want the lowest ratio possible so, the smallest engine sprocket you can find (13t) combined with the largest axle sprocket you can find (low 40s); in first gear, that should give you an overall ratio of around 9:1 which should light up those little 11" tyres nicely ;) & still have a top speed around 60mph
