Hello all. I just found this page and signed up first thing. I am researching the building of a kart and really exploring what I want/need.
I have two car crazy boys (13 and 8) who love karting and have always dreamed of karting (gentleman style I suppose). I have been looking at LO206 karts and wonder if I could try my hand at building something that might make it onto the track.
I suppose I will poke around and see what I find.

Welcome to the forum. I don't race kats. Most of us on here.don't. More of just fun and mostly off road karts. I have 4 myself. But I do follow a couple of racing kart forums. You mentioned building a kart to race ( I think ) on a track. You will never be able to home build a kart that would even be mildly competitive, even at the kid level. The things they race are VERY sophisticated machines. If you want your boys to race, go to the tracks around your area and talk to the racers. There is always stuff for sale at the track, or someone who knows somebody who has something ( a race kart ) for sale. If your sons want something to just ride around on and have fun, then you have come to the right place. Lots of knowledgeable and helpful members here with collectively hundreds of years of experience.
