I'm part way finished with my first build. My hobbies started in wooden boats years ago and one day I built a trailer for boat at the local community college, learned some steelwork, fab, blacksmithing and the interest in steel just took off. Now that my kids are old enough to help with a kart and I have a little hobby money (not too often), I decided to build a kart. I'm trying to build a psuedo-offroad-gravel road-packed sand, no shocks, basic kart. I'm thinking this hobby could take off into sandrails, and dune-buggies since I live about an 1 hour from one of the largest sand playgrounds in the country.
Anyway, looking for some guidance, found a lot here already, and as with anything, I'm sure I'll find some problems or at least some changes to be had along the way. I'll post some pics soon, got a hand bent bumper and a hand-made wooden and aluminum steering wheel I'm kinda proud of.
Thanks, you guys are great.
