Hi everyone, let me first start by saying that I know very very little about go carts and I just bought a go cart frame/wheels/steering but it has no engine. I was wondering if I can ask you guys what is a good/reliable/fast engine that I can buy. I think I need a clutch too? I have no idea if the clutch and gearing has to be mated to my exiting final drive gearing? If I have to post this question in another forum then let me know.

Hi!
You will need to buy a centrifugal clutch that fits the engine of your choosing. If your unsure of how big of an engine would be best, post a few pics of what you have, so we give you an idea of what you might be after!

This is what I have, the existing engine was killed by the previous owner. I was looking at the Briggs 206...any suggestions?

google 6.5 HP Clone engine. It is very standard and will give you a lot of power. You will also need a 3/4 inch bore diameter clutch, but make sure it is the same chain pitch as the sprocket. Welcome to the forum!

Are these engines reliable? I was thinking about investing the the Briggs 206?? I do not know much about it but I think it can be had for about $450??? Is there a place that you guys can recommend for buying/ordering a engine like this? Is there a better clone engine to pick from? This looks like a cool board and I can not wait to get this thing running.
