Manco Kid of the 90's
Hey gang, glad to have found this forum in my journey to returning to the fun filled adventures of Go Karting! Ive been away for many years but now that I have two small kiddos the spark has been rekindled and I'm excited to share the enjoyment with them.
I grew up in the 80's/90's and got my first kart in the 90's, it was a two seat Manco 485-15 if I recall and we drove the wheels off it... literally...many times over
with that torque convertor setup and a 5.5hp Briggs we could climb just about anything and it was a blast!
As we got older we modified the engine mount and put a 10hp Tecumseh on there and removed the gov. if we weren't careful it would tear up the plastic silders in the torque convertor from too much torque
Great fun and I very much look forward to my first build from scratch with the kiddos, I got the Live Axle plans from kartfab and with the aid of this forum I hope to start rolling this out during all the craziness going on these days and find some fun.
Thanks for the great forum! Looking forward to being a kid again
