Hello from LA ....( lower Alabama )

Hello to all.
found this site while looking for info for a Comet clutch system, lurked around for few days and decide to join. I am semi retired , worked for the Navy in civil service as a Avionics Tech( electrical/electronic) Jet engine mechanic in the Navy and was a auto mechanic for close to twenty years. I have worked on/owned hotrods and race cars most of my life ,many motorcycles and a ton of go karts. My kart experience goes back to the late fifty's early 60's with Go Kart Manufacturing and Bug Engineering karts. I am now 71 years old have grand kids that are crazy about karts. We have two Murray's and two plain ole yard karts, and one wild mini bike that i won't let any of them ride ( no brake's) with a potent Honda motor.
I can fabricate/ build most any thing, been welding since I was 11 years old. So guess who got elected to fix all the motorized stuff here. I am looking forward to going all tru this site and reading as many posts as possible.

Poboy .....where is White Settlement in Texas? ...... I was born and raised in Huntsville Texas , got stationed in Pensacola Fla met my wife there , she is from South Alabama, been here ever since. Still miss Texas , but Alabama is my home ,lived here longer than any where I have ever lived.

West side of Ft. Worth. You were further south. I married a girl from Pascagoula Mississippi... Been there and loved every minute...made a day trip north to Bama.(Actually a couple of hours.)

But I was bored and raised...(just a little joke there) ...in San Antonio.

The South shall rise again! (With a little help from Viagra.)

OH....Yeah...we went to Mobile....but I didn't see a lot moving! LOL!

you did not go far enough south , you should have came across the bay way in to Baldwin County went south to the Gulf........ Absolutely Paradise......Sugar Sands, clear blue water of the Gulf and some of the best fishing in the world.......

Ahhh...sorry....but Texas has PLENTY of good fishing....(don't get me started) ...and I'll put our gulf coast oysters and brown shrimp up against any in the world....we just don't have lobsters.....

But hey....I wish I was closer to the coast.

Sorry I met to say deep sea fishing..... at least according to my son and grand kids...... don't fish anymore , after shoulder surgery can't throw a cast net any more ( get 10 -20 fish in one to two throws ) fishing with a pole was a waste of time ( to me any way!!!!) i just tell the kids that me and their Grand mother wants some fish...LOL

Yep...getting old sucks...I used to catch a couple of hundred pounds of fish a year...now I just buy Vietnamese catfish. (Basa or Swai)... from the grocery store.

Only got one grandkid....and he's under 3.... so...can't send him out yet....but Gramps...(or is that Grumps?)... will school him soon enough!

and yes I did have a Mustang..... actually 3 of them over the years, the shelby1 comes from my grand daughter, she loves Mustang's, wanted our last one but she was too young to get it, told her when she turns 16 I will help her get one..... But she has stated that she wants one of name sake's... A Shelby Mustang GT....... I told her to dream on.....
