Bought a Manco Interceptor for my 6 year old. Tearing it down and refurbishing it. Adding a predator 212 and a CVT torque converter. It came with the original chain driven reduction gears, but thought the CVT would be easier to deal with in the end.

Future mods may include upgrading the rear axle to 3/4” since 1 3/8” x 3/4” bearings are available. The other option is welding on some square tubing and adding a 1” axle below the original with pillow bearings.

Just thought I’d stop by say hey in case I have any questions. In the meantime I’ll look around, enjoy the discussion, and builds.

I should probably put a “build” thread up. I feel like I’m probably not adding much to the community, but I know people enjoy the visual references.
Everyone likes build threads, and some people will get a lot out of it. If not even that I find it a good motivation tool. Go for it!

Welcome! Nice kart! Great plan, just step up to a 1” axle it will be cheaper and parts are easier to find.
If I plan on upgrading wheel/tire package from the 4” wheels I’ll definitely be upgrading the axle at that time. Probably to the 3/4”, only for the lack of effort. At this point I just want to make sure it’s “road” worthy, with new bearings, brakes and tires. Then, we’ll see how much my son enjoys driving. If it’s in his blood I’ll just end up building a cart from scratch.
