Hi guys,

I'm new around here, just getting back into carting now that my children are getting old enough to enjoy them. I recently bought a Streaker off road cart and a Manco yard kart for $400 from my neighbor. They both have 5hp Briggs flat heads, and I found diy go karts by searching for solutions to some of their issues. I'll log in with my phone in a bit and upload a photo of them.

Thanks again for the site, and I'm sure I'll learn a lot by browsing around.

Oh, and no they weren't driving them with no shoes, seatbelts, etc.. I had just bought them that day and they were just sitting in them. :)

The biggest problem I'm having on the smaller one is the gas tank is broken and leaking. The cap was stuck, and when I tried to free it, I apparently broke the threaded fitting on the tank, because now the fitting (with cap still attached) just spins and gas leaks out from under the cap. but, when it was running, it ran like crap most of the time so ill need to address that one the tsnk is fixed. The larger one needs some steering work but is drivable right now. I'm really interested in doing some engine mods to increase power.

You may be able to solder or braise the filler neck in place once the tank is empty of course!

Those are AWESOME for $400!!! Somebody was :bannana:all the way home I bet..... Welcome to DIYGK! We have a couple stickys about steering. I can tellyou already that you have no Ackerman. Go read that sticky. It will improve your steering by a whole world......
