Hello! Love the info on this site! Current kart is a 1960 huffco hurricane with a 5hp briggs that my boys use to wreak havoc on my backyard with! Next up will be a go kart powered by a 04 polaris 550 fan engine and drivetrain or a 08 yamaha 250 v-twin,, Still have not decided which one to use. I'm leaning towards the 250 because of the ease of install into the kart! What ever one I go with I'll be sure to take lots of pics and do a thread on it!

Here is a pic of the huffco in action! Just put a 212cc predator engine on it! I modified a child car seat with a 5 point harness so my 4 year old can drive it to!

Just a word of advice regarding safety. If you don't have a roll cage on your kart, it is advisable not to have a seat belt or harness. This is so that the driver can get thrown free if there is an accident, and not get pinned under the kart.

The only time you have a seat belt or harness is if you have a roll cage. In this case you want to be kept in your seat so that you don't get crushed by the cage. The cage is your protection.

Oh yes!!! I still have not decided what engine to use, I also have a 08 polaris shift that has a 600ho 120ish hp that I can use.. I want crazy! 1st pic is the shift with the 600. Second is the prox with the 550 fan and the motorcycle with the 250.
