Howdy,
I started with sidewalk cars and quarter midgets in the early 50's, moved up to go-karts as the 60's began. (photo attached). Currently, I am a grandfather running a quarter midget team for my grandkids. Thanks for letting me join the group here.

Cool to have a veteran racer, that picture really shows how much our yard karts are based off classic racing karts. Welcome!

Welcome to the club. I too am from central Texas. Just starting to get to know Karting for my granddaughter's sake. Having a hard time finding places to Kart. Also trying to get my kart registered as a Low Speed Vehicle and or Off Highway Vehicle. I understand that Eisenhower state park is the only one that allows OHV permit karts. What do you suggest other than finding someone who has a ranch.

There are a couple of backyard dirt tracks if you're into oval racing, in the area. There is also a rally course out by Coupland that might allow you to run on their dirt course. As far as trails, I don't know of any public areas.
