Hello-I just bought a Coolster 125CC go-kart "wreck" that I plan on rebuilding with my 10-year old son to reach him some mechanical skills. About the only thing usable is the frame. I plan on fabricating a mount and install a Ironton 6.5 engine that Northern has on sale, stripping the faded and rusted paint, and repainting OD Green with US Army stars on the sides and front ((son's choice of color scheme). Anyways I hope to pic yall's brains to avoid expensive mistakes. Thanks

Well the use of the Predator 6.5 from Harbor Freight is well documented here. It's cheaper than the NT engine and well proven over time. The NT engine, not so much.

There is a plethora of performance parts for the Predator, and a boatload of people here familiar with them.

I don't know if it's still on, but several members bought Predators online for $80 shipped to their door.

Welcome to the forum and ask us before you buy ANYTHING.

Can you elaborate on that? Sounds like a good place to put all the smokers and then put a lid on it. More efficient smoking that way too; you get to share everyone else's smoke. :arf:

I've worked at the Atlanta airport and across at the Delta Hanger for almost 30 years. The "fish bowl" is what the employees who worked there called the smokers lounge because it was all glass walls and as you walked by everybody could see you. If you were giving directions to somebody you'd always say "Go past the fishbowl and hang a right, blah-blah-blah". I live n North Gwinnett. No place to take the go-kart out locally anymore, unfortunately. The local police have shut down the power line access roads which used to be a great (and close-by) area to ride dirt-bikes, atv's etc. Only option now is to go to the USFS trails in north Georgia which I plan on doing with my son once we rebuild the cart and I find a bigger one for me.
