Hello there, my name is Angel and I'm 16. I just recently got into building karts (I have yet to build one, still practicing welding) and I realized I use this forum for advice more than any other website, so I decided to register. Just thought I'd introduce myself.

I am also 16 and am just starting my first build as for the welding it just takes lots of practice and you will get the hang of it fast

Welcome to the forum Alaska. When you get started on your build, you must start a build log and post some pics

Well thank you all I will start a build log sometime this week, as I have to have a go kart finished by the 24th for my little brothers 11th birthday. I just got my 6.5 clone engine that I'm going to put on it today. I bought the blackwidow plans from spiderkarts already, so what do you all think of it?

it lookes very simple so it will be perfect for a first build you are on a tight time line but even if you don't get it finished in time your brother will love it

I love Alaska. Went a few years ago and loved it. Not sure I would want to winter there. But summer vacations? My God it was cool. Best vacation ever by far.

The winters here are harsh man, the coldest I've been in is -60. The mountains here are beautiful though, although I can't compare them to any other mountains downstates as I've never left alaska
